Tulawikaan / Pinoypoets 4th Anniversary Lecture / Balagtasan Lecture
Tulawikaan: A Seminar on Poetry and the Filipino Language
LIRA (Linangan sa Imahen, Retorika, at Anyo), in partnership with UST Department of Languages, invites all teachers to Tulawikaan, which focuses on the teaching language through poetry. This seminar will be held on August 27, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the UST Thomas Aquinas Research Complex. Lecturers include Dr. Vim Nadera Jr., Prof. Michael Coroza, Prof. Romulo Baquiran,Jr, and Dr. Lilia Antonio. Seminar fee is Php 800, inclusive of seminar kit, food, and certificate. Early bird rate of Php 700 is applicable until August 9, 2008. A lecture on The Way We Rhyme the Way We Do
In celebration of its fourth year anniversary, Pinoypoets has partnered with Filipinas Heritage Library to bring you Our Love for Glove Doves: A Cognitive Approach to the Way We Rhyme the Way We Do. Lecturer Paolo Manalo, award-winning poet and best-selling author of Jolography, was one of Pinoypoets' earliest workshop panelists. The lecture will be held on August 16, 4:00 PM, at the Filipiniana Section of Filipinas Heritage Library in Makati City. Balagtasan: Its History and Practice
LIRA (Linangan sa Imahen, Retorika, at Anyo), in partnership with the Ortigas Foundation, invites you to a lecture on The History of Balagtasan. Lecturer Dr. Galileo Zafra is a literary historian, critic, and professor at the University of the Philippines. His lecture will be held on August 10, Sunday, from 9AM to 12NN at the Ortigas Foundation Library. This is part of LIRA's monthly lecture series and is free and open to the public.
