What could be more relaxing than the almost two weeks of rest. Kaya naman sinamantala ko ang panonood sa dvd. I found these pictures very engaging:

1. Blood Diamond (Leonardo di Caprio). very emotional lalo na ang mga eksena ng mag-ama kung saan ang anak na lalaki ay nabrainwash para sa isang maling pag-aakala, ang galing ng confrontation scene.

2. Running with Scissors - support lang dito si Gwyneth Paltrow. Ang maganda sa pelikulang ito ay ang mismong istorya. Dito lang ako nakapanood ng pelikula na halos ang lahat ng characters ay dispalinghado . Based sa buhay ng writer na si Augustene Burroughs, na ang ina ay isang poet na nangarap maging famous, subalit nanatiling unpublished kaya sa desperation ay napunta sa kalinga ng isang psychiatrist. Ang ama ni Augustene ay isang alcoholic. Sa pagsusuri sa kaniyang ina lumabas na siya pala ay isang lesbian at may secret affair sa isang member ng kanilang poetry society. Kaya di kataka-taka na si Augustene ay maging gay (nagkaroon siya ng relasyon sa isang pasyente ng psychiatrist na may problema sa anger control), it runs in the blood Dahil dito ipinagkatiwala muna ng ina ang anak sa pangangalaga ng psychiatrist kungsaan ang extended family ay mga abnormal din in their own ways.

3. Thank you for Smoking - ito ang pelikulang alam kong ipinalabas sa mga sinehan ngunit di pinansin. Napaka serious kasi ng plot tungkol sa laban ng isang lobbyist ( Aaron Eckhart) pabor sa mga cigarette manufacturers kontra sa publiko sa pangunguna ng isang senador (excellently portrayed by William Macy). Ang kabuuan ng pelikula ay napaka engrossing dahil tumatalakay din ito sa relasyon ng ama sa anak at kung paano nakikita ng bata ang ama. In the end may redeeming values siya na napakagaang dalhin.

4. Apocalypto - After Braveheart at Passion of Christ, a movie worthy of my admiration ay ang pelikulang ito. Nakakagulat ang mga fight scenes ng mga katutubo at ang dialogue in their native tounge added to the cinematic value ng movie na ito ni Gibson. Nakakaangat sa upuan ang habulan sa simula pa lamang noong naghuhunt sila hanggang sa katapusan kung saan kailangang mai-save ng main character ang kaniyang mag-ina sa balon na napupuno ng tubig-ulan.


I am yet to watch Kurusawa's " Rashomon ".
Nanood din ako ng ilang horror & comedy movies but the four above are worth your time guys.

Iisa pa lamang ang napapanood ko among the festival entries ang "Ligalig" at though medyo nahulaan ko na sa simula pa lamang kung sino ang killer, nag-enjoy ako sa atake ng mga karakters sa pelikula. Magaling dito si Cesar though at times medyo lumalabas pa rin ang pagiging OA. Ang commendable talaga dito ay si Johnny Delgado at Celia Rodriguez.

Kung kailangang ilista lahat ng gagawin at nais mangyari sa taong ito, may iilang natatangi akong gustong gawin at mangyari:

1. Sana mas tumibay pa ang paghawak ko sa kapasidad kong lumikha ng tula, makilala kahit paano, mapublish muli at mapublish pa ( kahit may mga nagtatanong bakit ba kailangang mapublish? ) at matuloy na sana ang balak kong chapbook ( may nagrekomenda kasi na sa dami ng tula ko bakit di pa isang buong libro?). 2. Pinanood ko ang " a Night At the Museum" ni Ben Stiller. Di ko alam kung bakit sunud-sunod na pelikulang ang tema ay tumatalakay sa relasyong mag-ama ang aking napapanood. Di ko alam kung may pahiwatig o ano. Relasyong mag-ama din kasi basically ang tema nito kahit pa umiikot sa mga nabubuhay na artifacts & displays kapag naghahatinggabi ang pangganyak ng movie.

Pinanood ko rin ang "Rocky Balboa", at muli relasyong mag-ama din ito, na sa simula ay nagdaramdam ang anak dahil sa pagkawala ng sariling identity niya dahil feeling niya inaaccept lang siya ng tao dahil sa surname niyang " Balboa ". Na sa huli naman ay napagpayuhan siya ng ama kung ano ang dapat niyang gawin. ang comeback fight niya, na isang exhibition fight lang at di pang title bout ang siya namang panghatak ng pelikula.

3. Bumabalik na naman ang dating sakit ni Inay, yung high cholesterol level niya at di maalis-alis na hypertension. Kaya napakarami niyang gamot na pangmaintenance. Kawawa naman si Inay.

4. nagtext ang super favoriete kong niece at inaanak noong isang gabi na nagpapaturo ng assignment niya, Grade four lang siya sa isang private school at nagulat ako na ang assignment niya ay halos pang-college na! sus , kailangan ko pang kumunsulta kay "Mr. Encyclopedia" para lamang makuha lahat ng detalye. Yung iba medyo dinagdagan ko na lang.

1. Upon my invitation, nagpunta sa house si Sir Bob Anonuevo kasama si Tata Raul for a rigid crit session sa collection ko ng mga tula na gagamitin sa binabalak na chapbook. Marami siyang di nagustuhan at marami din namang nagustuhan. Natuwa nga ako nang sabihin niya na kung kailangan ko ng 80 or more poems ay makakakuha naman ako sa koleksyon ko ( di pa kasama sa nareview ang mga recent poems ko na siguro ay over 60 na rin). Satisfied ako sa mga comments at marami siyang ibinigay na tip, isa na dito ang huwag masyadong magmadali. ibinigay niyang halimbawa ang paglabas ng "Apokripos" na almost 7 years daw in preparation at nang lumabas naman ay maganda ang review. naliwanagan naman ako kaya't di na ako magmamadali sa output.

2. Noong Saturday din ay nagkaayaan kaming pumunta sa Roxas Blvd to watch the World Pyro Exhibition. At ang dapat ay 1 hour ride ay naging 6 hours sa sobrang traffic. Muntik na naming di makita ang huling exhibition, mabuti na lamang at kahit sandali lamang ang napanood naming fireworks ay at least umabot kami.

3. May kaunting problema sa office, na siguro ay simula na upang mag-isip ako kung magreresign ako sa trabaho. Sobrang stressful na di na nakakatulong sa health ko.

I will be performing sa "Kapusuan" sa Conspiracy para sa mga tula ng Pag-ibig sa Feb 13. Also sa Intellectual Property Office sa Feb 16 para sa temang "Eros" naman upon the invitation of LIRA President, Bebang Sy.

May project akong binubuo, isang series ng tula na may tema patungkol sa third eye, (siguro based na rin sa mga ilang pangyayari sa sarili). Naipost ko na ang unang part sa Pinoypoets at Kamakatahan, experimental muna, at yung 2nd part naman ay parang haiku style. I dont know about the effectiveness pero nais ko talagang mabuo ang serye na ito
